Annie's Memorial Fund
Give a gift of remembrance to Annie’s Memorial Fund and support the work of Professor Sanjay Popat and lung cancer research.
Annie Benacerraf Pawley was a remarkable, talented, smart, artistic woman, a caring and supportive mother and a wonderful friend who cared deeply about her family and friends, the environment and in doing the right thing.
Annie, a never-smoker, was diagnosed with Stage 4C metastatic lung cancer in December 2014.
Her positive attitude and holistic approach to her disease, together with the clinical expertise of Professor Sanjay Popat and his wonderful team at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London, meant she defied the odds for five years.
“Sanjay was our rock, combining deep expertise in pulmonary oncology with an ability to demonstrate incredible empathy with his patients in a way that consistently recharged Annie’s spirits in the dark times of her journey. He was beyond her Consultant, he became a dear friend.”
Annie’s greatest wish was to promote Sanjay’s work in new immunotherapy techniques to tackle the disease through helping raise funds. To that end, the family is in the process of establishing Annie’s Fund in her memory.
Annie’s family has already generously pledged in excess of £75,000 towards Annie’s Memorial fund.
We will share your name with Sabrina Pawley (Annie’s daughter) so she can thank you for your generous support. If you would prefer us not to share these details, please email [email protected].
