20 Years of Pink Pony
In October, the Pink Pony Campaign – Ralph Lauren’s global cancer awareness and fundraising initiative – celebrated its 20th Anniversary.
As a longstanding partner and beneficiary of this campaign, The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity was delighted to be part of Pink Pony in this milestone year.
20th Anniversary Campaign
Professor Nick Turner, Head of the Ralph Lauren Centre for Breast Cancer Research at The Royal Marsden, and Deborah James, broadcaster, author and patient at The Royal Marsden contributed to the global campaign, the theme of which was ”More Conversations, More Love”. Communications throughout the campaign, including a podcast in collaboration with The Conduit Club, looked at how love and support form part of a cancer patient’s journey.
Antonia Dalmahoy, Managing Director of the Charity said, ‘Ralph Lauren Corporation’s loyal support of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity has helped to establish the Ralph Lauren Centre for Breast Cancer Research, will enable us to create the Ralph Lauren Research Zone in our new Oak Cancer Centre, and so much more. The Pink Pony campaign has been an enormous part of this support, bringing staff and customers together each year to raise vital funds for, and awareness of, the Charity. On behalf of the Charity, the hospital and the patients around the world who benefit from this support, we are so grateful.’
This year, 100% of the purchase price from the sale of each light pink ‘Live Love’ t-shirt and 25% of the purchase price of all other items in the Pink Pony Collection benefits The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. More details about the collection can be found here.
Employee activity going virtual
For Ralph Lauren employees, Pink Pony 2020 went virtual. This year, employees took part in a global virtual walk. In addition, Ralph Lauren hosted a live, virtual event with representatives from The Royal Marsden and the Charity. During this event, employees heard about the progress made at the Ralph Lauren Centre for Breast Cancer Research and how The Royal Marsden’s new Oak Cancer Centre will help make a difference for patients around the world.
