Philip Kingsley’s annual fundraising campaign
We are delighted that British hair care brand Philip Kingsley will be supporting The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity this month, continuing their annual campaign which began in June 2017.
On 4 June 2021, to commemorate Philip Kingsley’s birthday, all proceeds from products sold both at philipkingsley.co.uk and at their London Mayfair Trichological Clinic will be donated to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. The Charity was a cause close to Philip’s heart, due to his wife Joan’s experience of breast cancer. His No Scent, No Colour range was one of the first product lines in the world specifically developed to suit the needs of people undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
To date, Philip Kingsley Products Ltd has raised more than £40,000 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, and this year we are celebrating the fifth anniversary of the campaign.
Supporting breast cancer research
Fundraising from this campaign will support breast cancer research at The Royal Marsden, led by Mr Gerald Gui, Consultant Breast Surgeon. Mr Gui leads research into genetic predisposition to breast cancer and its influence on treatment. He also conducts research into early diagnosis of breast cancer and innovations in diagnoses.
Mr Gerald Gui, Consultant Breast Surgeon at The Royal Marsden, said: ‘We are grateful for Philip Kingsley Products Ltd’s generous support, that enables us to continue to expand our understanding of breast cancer and improve the clinical service we offer our patients.’
The Royal Marsden’s Breast Unit is at the forefront of international research into the development of new treatments, the identification of women at high risk and breast cancer prevention. Funding from The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity supports the growth of clinical research at the hospital by funding pioneering trials, hi-tech equipment, purpose-built facilities and world-leading cancer experts. This research is helping to improve early diagnosis and create more targeted treatments, benefitting patients at The Royal Marsden and beyond.
Pioneering research at The Royal Marsden
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity has provided £66 million to support ground-breaking cancer research work at the hospital over the past 10 years. Next year, the Oak Cancer Centre is due to open at The Royal Marsden’s Sutton site. This state-of-the-art new facility, funded by The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, will bring together 400 researchers alongside patients and clinicians, helping to accelerate progress for the benefit of patients at The Royal Marsden and worldwide.
Antonia Dalmahoy, Managing Director of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, said:
“We’re so grateful to have the support of Philip Kingsley Products Ltd for the fifth year. Philip’s legacy and the money raised from this annual campaign is supporting pioneering and innovative research, improving the lives of more people affected by breast cancer. On behalf of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, thank you to Philip Kingsley Products Ltd and everyone supporting the campaign this year.”
