In memory of Philip Kingsley
As well as being a legend in the hair care world, Philip was also a generous patron of many charities and arts organisations. The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity was one of the causes closest to his heart.
The inventor of the phrase 'bad hair day' was Philip Kingsley - a well-loved character in the hairdressing world.
A proper Eastender, Philip was born in London in 1930 and through grit and passion and continuous application to research he became one of the greatest experts on hair health and scalp care.
He was lauded by the likes of Vogue and the New York Times and counted Victoria Beckham, Cate Blanchett and Sienna Miller among his celebrity clients. His award-winning range of products "bridged the gap between science and hairdressing" and included several firsts - such as scalp masks and tonics.
True to his nature, Philip's legacy means we can continue to research and find treatments to improve the lives of more and more people with cancer here at The Royal Marsden and across the world.
