How to take part

Registration

Registration is £10 per person, and we ask each participant to reach a minimum fundraising target of £200. Once you’ve signed up, and had your place confirmed with a member of the team, you will be sent a separate link over email and will need to complete this to secure your place. After you’ve completed both steps, you’ll be all set to take on this exciting 10K challenge!

Training and fundraising support

Once you’ve signed up, you’ll receive one-to-one support from a dedicated member of the charity team. They will help with your fundraising efforts and answer any questions you may have as you prepare for the big day.

You’ll also have access to our training plans to encourage you to start logging those miles. Whether it’s your first big race or you’re a seasoned runner, our plans will help structure your training to make sure you are ready for the challenge.

When you register, you will also be able to join our Team Marsden Runners Facebook group. Our fun, friendly and supportive online community will be there to support you all the way, share top tips and advice and keep you motivated in the run up to the event.

The Vitality 10K route

With an iconic start and finish outside Buckingham Palace, The Vitality 10k course guides participants past some of London's most famous sights. The first 5k sees runners head down The Strand where they are greeted by buzzing crowds of supporters, then into the heart of the city. Runners then loop back past St Paul’s Cathedral and enjoy the last stretch through beautiful St James’ Park. This is certainly an event not to be missed!

Running to make a difference – Paul’s story

"I was inspired to run for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity because my dad suffered from prostate cancer this year which rocked me and my family.

Taking part in the Vitality 10k was a special race for me as it was the first 10k I've ever done. For someone who doesn't get nervous, I was surprised at how apprehensive I was but once I got to the event it was great seeing the different runners, charities, and buzz. The minute the race started I just ran my own pace with the target of getting under an hour and everyone spurring each other along.

The sense of achievement for someone who's a first-time runner was huge. I recommend it to anyone, a great experience all round."

Thanks to Team Marsden supporters like Paul, The Royal Marsden can continue to be there for all those affected by cancer around the world.
