Setting up and managing your fundraising page

If you haven’t used online fundraising before, Justgiving offer some great step-by-step guides to get you started, which we have linked to below. Here are our top tips for getting the most out of your online fundraising page.

  • Campaign and team pages. Having a central campaign or team page on Justgiving allows you to link up individual pages set up by your friends and family, with all the money going towards your fund. This is a really effective way of keeping track of who is setting up a page, and how much you have raised in total. Speak to our team about how to set this up.
  • Set a target. It’s really important to set a target on your page, so you and others can see your progress. If you reach the target you have set on your page, don’t be afraid to increase it. This will inspire people to keep donating.
  • Personalise your page. Sharing your story on your page will help engage people with your fund. Include a summary of why you are fundraising and how the money you are raising will help – get in touch if you are unsure or would like some information about a specific area of The Royal Marsden’s work. You can add photos and videos to your page, which will help bring your page to life and can also be used to update people on your fundraising.
  • Update your page. Regularly updating your page will help you keep your supporters engaged and raise more money. You can then share your updates directly to social media. You can also add your offline donations, so these are included in your page total.
  • Send personalised thank you messages. You can also use the updates section of your Justgiving page to post shout-outs to anyone you would like to thank. Perhaps they have made a particularly generous donation, or they’ve gone above and beyond to help. This could also encourage others to do the same.
